Bindara Estate vineyard is a thirty acre property, with the vineyard occupying twenty-two acres. We are located at 39 Boundary road, Coldstream, within the picturesque Yarra Valley region of Victoria.
Bindara Estate vineyard is located on land which was originally a 656 acre property owned by Paul De Castella, in the 1860's. David Mitchell, father of Dame Nellie Melba, purchased the property in the late 1860's and later planted ten acres of vines close to where Bindara Estate vineyard is now located.
The current day Bindara estate vines were established in 1997 with 12.5 acres each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir planted. Warren and Delia Jones purchased the property in 2004 and progressively altered the range of varieties grown which now comprise Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Some of the fruit grown is sold to various wineries in the Yarra Valley, whilst other parcels of fruit are made into wine for our Bindara Estate label.
Our aim is to produce boutique, full-flavoured wines from each variety we grow as excellent examples of cool climate Yarra Valley wines.
